Lambretta

The Lambretta Siluro

Over seventy years after the speed record that made it internationally famous, the SILURO Lambretta returns to Milan, the city where it was conceived and built.
The return of this unique model, made possible by the Ferdinando and Luigi Innocenti Foundation, marks the occasion for a series of cultural initiatives promoted by Lambretta Club Milano, in collaboration with ASI – Automotoclub Storico Italiano and under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and the Lombardy Region.
The SILURO, built by Innocenti at the end of the 1940s, remains a symbol of Italian creativity and technical audacity. With its record speed of 201 km/h achieved in 1951 on the Munich–Ingolstadt highway in Germany, it still stands as a milestone in motoring history and design.
Throughout the month of September, the museum will host the SILURO along with the first civilian Lambretta models, including the Lambretta A (1947) and Lambretta B (1948), both key players in Italy’s post-war industrial and social reconstruction.
