Design enters History. Video Installation IED

Design Enters History is a video installation located in the museum foyer, created by IED – Istituto Europeo di Design and produced by OffiCine (IED and ANTEO).

This animated short film weaves together creativity and history, showing how design is always shaped by its time. Between the late 1920s and the early 1950s, Italy experienced profound transformations — despite the wars — spanning cinema, the Triennale, household appliances, fashion, and the development of transportation.

Archival images unfold like a visual narrative, brought to life through sound and music. Moving across them is a white line: a metaphor for the design process, which interprets and transforms events, ultimately giving rise to the iconic forms of Italian design from that period.
