Curated by Giulio Iacchetti

Graphic design by Federica Marziale Iadevaia

To celebrate the 140th anniversary of Carlo Collodi’s “The Adventures of Pinocchio – Story of a Puppet,” the most translated Italian book in the world, the ADI Design Museum presents a selection of projects dedicated to this icon that has inspired generations of creatives and thinkers.
A celebration of a masterpiece of Italian literature, the exhibition aims to reinforce the multidisciplinary nature of design as a culturally rich heritage capable of raising questions in our daily lives.

A historical section curated by Marco Belpoliti welcomes visitors with vintage covers, drawings, and illustrations. It concludes with 100 original drawings from one of Andrea Branzi's last works, offering his personal vision of Collodi’s tale.

At the heart of Dearest Pinocchio are 62 new projects by 31 designers and 31 graphic artists—an expansive, surprising, kaleidoscopic perspective on the timeless imagination of Italian design. The Pinocchios, created in collaboration with companies, skilled artisans, and in some cases self-produced, are displayed on a large circular carousel.

This is complemented by a collection of objects from leading Made in Italy companies inspired by the Pinocchio icon.
