The Compasso d'Oro Award for 1959 was awarded to the waterproof container with fitting lid produced by the Milan Bono Company for the particular aesthetic result obtained through the application of respect for economic-production demands and the perfection resulting from entirely industrial processing. The manufacturing phases, i.e. the forming of the cylinder with variable diameters, the spiral band, the definition of its capacity by a simple cut in the semi-finished product and the opposing closures in easily mounted tinplate, all demonstrating conceptual and aesthetic simplicity, constitute a typical product of the techniques of our time
