KS 1171/2 removable dish drainer

The Kartell - Colombini partnership was awarded the Compasso d'Oro for the fourth time in 1960 for the dismountable plastic KS 117/2 draining rack. It offers a simple but brand new version of the traditional kitchen tool thanks to the close relationship between the module and the mounted units, resulting in the maximum flexibility of use both in terms of size and cost-effectiveness. The well-known interpretative ability of the characteristics of the materials on the part of the designer and the attention to quality production by the manufacturer complete the picture of this modest but exemplary lesson in design.
