The extractor fan dome for hoods by Marelli, which was awarded the Compasso d'Oro 1960, appears as a further significant contribution to the aesthetics of detail in construction. The rigorously geometric design in relation to the mode of operation and the shapes of the fan, with no complacency or mimicry, in fact achieves a conciseness and correctness (also through an economical treatment of the material) such as to be underlined as proof of serious design when compared with the often gratuitous manifestations of an excessive or mannered expression of the shapes of many products that appear on the market today.
